Omar Khayyam, A distinguished persian polymath

Born in Nishapur, Khorasan, on May 18th, 1048, world-renowned in mathematics, philosophy, astronomy, and poetry. He contributed to the Jalali calendar (Thaghvim) by order of Malek Shah, the king of Saljoghi’s dynasty. Khayyam is the author of one of the excellent treatises on Algebra written before modern times. As a philosopher who assumed the universe’s creation, he had some points of view. Therefore, he wrote down his thoughts and beliefs in a matchless poetry book called Rubaiyat-e Khayyam.

Omar Khayyam died in 1131 and is buried in a spectacular garden in his motherland, Nishapur.
